Description

(Condition: one side fin is missing, and part of the belly fin is missing)

This 37cm vintage Murano glass fish is a striking example of Italian glass artistry, featuring elegant curves and a rich internal swirl of color highlighted by gold foil inclusion. The translucent body showcases the masterful blend of form and technique that Murano is known for, with the gold flecks suspended inside the glass catching light in shimmering flashes. The piece is both sculptural and decorative, evoking movement even while at rest.

Despite its artistry, this fish bears signs of age and handling—its side fin is missing, and part of the belly fin is absent, as clearly noted and shown. These flaws, while affecting its original symmetry, also lend it a sense of history and survival. It remains structurally sound and visually compelling, a testament to the enduring quality of Murano craftsmanship.

Displayed on a shelf or in a light-filled cabinet, it still commands attention with its bold profile and radiant inner detail. For collectors and admirers of hand-blown glass, it serves not just as an object of beauty but also as a conversation piece—evidence of both the fragility and resilience found in vintage decorative glass.
